The Forklift Train-the-Trainer program will prepare you to effectively deliver various types of Forklift training events including workshop-type sessions, classes, and one-on-one training.
In addition to the included Forklift Certification (Forklift Fundamentals) course, you’ll learn about the principles required to effectively train adult learners and continuously improve your abilities as a trainer.
Training Program Objectives
- Have a basic understanding of general forklift legislation and applicable standards.
- Know about the duties and responsibilities of employers, supervisors, and workers relating to the safe operation of forklifts.
- Have an understanding of the different types of forklifts, their anatomy, and their basic components.
- Clearly understand important principles relating to forklift stability and capacity, and have the ability to use your knowledge to prevent stability and capacity-related incidents.
- Understand the common hazards associated with forklifts, and have the ability to use your knowledge to prevent incidents.
- Understand the principles relating to the safe operation of forklifts including startup, traveling, pedestrians, and shutdown.
- Have an understanding of load handling principles relating to the most common scenarios found in workplaces, and have the ability to prevent load handling incidents.
- Understand the guidelines relating to fueling and recharging and apply them in the workplace.
- Understand the adult learner’s motivation, the types of learning styles, and representational systems, and utilize your understanding to improve the effectiveness of your training.
- Understand the requirements of being a successful Forklift trainer and the steps you need to take to level up your forklift training game.
- Have a clear understanding of training methodology and design as well as know how to integrate the various types of training methods into your Forklift training workshops.
- Know what to expect when facilitating training classes and the types of scenarios that you’ll encounter, and how to deal with various situations including difficult participants.
